Destiny's Star by Elizabeth Vaughan

She fell from the sky...Bethral is a warrior, as fierce as she is beautiful. But when she is dropped through a portal to the harsh land of the Plains, she is badly injured and must summon all her strength to save the man she secretly loves.
She didn't fall alone...Ezren Silvertongue is a quick-witted storyteller, a weaver of mesmerizing tales, but a man scarred and banished to the Plains along with Bethral for the rogue magic he possesses but cannot control.
Now they must stand together...In an unforgiving land, Bethral and Ezren are confronted with a civil war and a tribe of warriors who have their own code of honor and their own rules of pleasure and partnership. To stay alive, they must learn new customs, confront their enemies, and conceal Ezren's fiery power...
this book left me wanting for moreeee. more of bethral and ezren's love story, more of what happened next. there's definitely a sequel which i have to try and find although it'll be another couple's story...sadly. sigh
their love was so sweet, i was grinning like a chesire cat the whole time i was reading this story. awww sweettt really sweettt, and kidsss had to finally make both of them acknowledge their feelings for each other. hehe it was a good read for me, hope it is for you too. enjoy!!!

Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan

The daughter of a Warrior King, Xylara was trained as a healer. With her father dead and her incompetent half brother on the throne, the kingdom is in danger of falling to warring Firelanders. Unable to depose her sibling or negotiate peace, Lara serves her people by healing the warriors injured in battle.
But the care she provides is not for her countrymen alone. The wounded Firelander prisoners of war receive the same attention and compassion - and Lara finds herself educated in her enemy's language and customs in return.
She never expected that her deeds, done in good faith, would lead to the handsome and mysterious Firelander Warlord demanding her in exchange for a cease-fire. To save her land and her poeple, Lara sacrifices her freedom to become the warprize...
i borrowed the book because it had our herione as a healer and i've got to admit, i love healers especially. even when i play mmorpgs or online games, i usually choose my class as healer or cleric hehehe just love healing. too bad my brain can't process that much healing information to be really useful in reality though sigh >.<"
this book didn't disappoint me at all. loved the story, loved how she was able to get along with her enemies too. loved her compassionate nature and of course, our hero, kier, was a delight to watch. so gentle and yet, really fierce at times too. hehe i definitely recommend this. it's a good read. enjoy!

Too Good to be True by Kristan Higgins

When Grace Emerson's ex-fiance starts dating her younger sister, extreme measures are called for. To keep everyone from obsessing about her love life, Grace announces that she's seeing someone. Someone wonderful. Someone handsome. Someone completely made up. Who is this Mr Right? Someone...exactly unlike her renegade neighbour Callahan O'Shea. Well, someone with his looks, maybe. His hot body. His knife-sharp sense of humor. His smarts and big heart.

Whoa. No. Callahan O'Shea. Callahan O'Shea is not her perfect man! Not with his unsavory past. So why does Mr Wrong feel so ... right?
when i read this, it made me laugh many times, it also teared me up as well. there were times when my palms were sweaty and i wondered just how is she going to solve her problem. i'm sure many of us have this problem too, being single and others giving us pitying looks.
there's a dose of reality here, humor and romance which made it a good read for me after reading a lot of paranormal genres hehehe it brought me back to earth. of course, the bad parts i wish they didn't have, but then again, that's part and parcel of life. i loved how the story went towards the end, there was a lump in my throat. i'm gonna keep you guessing as to what exactly happened hehehe enjoy the read:)

The Billionaire's Secret Desire by Lietha Wards (online read)

Maximilian King has been in love with Lily, his best friend's sister, ever since he can remember. Well, ever since she was 16 to be exact. And he wants to make her his wife. But how is he to accomplish that when men seem to be flocking to her like bees to the flowers while the woman in question doesn't seem to have an inkling of that and his feelings for her. It's going to be a tough road for him but Maximilian King didn't become a billionaire simply because he was the type to give up easily. Is Lily going to have any say with two over protective men hovering in her life?
hahaha this was a really fresh read for me, our billionaire showed really great restraint. for years in fact. hehe and having to fend off all her suitors??? that shows how crazy for her he is. it's a simple and yet sweet story that i definitely wouldn't mind re-reading in the near future, just to change the pace of what i usually read, which is intense action, paranormal, mystery romances, etc.
i'm sure many of you will enjoy this if you like romance and some humor and of course, yummy billionaires hehehe even luke, lily's brother is a millionaire as well hehe enjoy^_^

Smitten by Payton Lee (online read)

A handsome Prince seeks life mate. He's not looking for physical beauty alone. He needs an intelligent and caring Princess to be his partner. He finds her in his own backyard after searching the world for her. Things aren't too simple. Someone's trying to kill his bride, Princess Rigan.
If you are in the mood for a fairytale romance, then this is it. it's a simple and sweet story, focusing on the love between our prince and princess. the story is written really well and flows smoothly.
they face some problems as royalties are bound to do. but it all works out in the end. i have read this twice now, enjoying the love that our prince has for his princess...although if that were to happen to me in reality, i'd be frustrated as hell, ready to rip my hair out. ;p
anyway, what's even better is that you can read this online at the link below. i hope you enjoy this.

In the Dark of Dreams by Marjorie M. Liu

She could never forget the boy with the ice blue eyes...
She was only twelve when she saw the silver boy on the beach, but Jenny has never stopped dreaming about him. Now she is grown, a marine biologist charting her own course in the family business - a corporation that covertly crosses the boundaries of science into realms of the unknown...and the incredible.
And now he has found her again, her boy grown into a man: Perrin, powerful and masculine, and so much more than human, leaving Jenny weak with desire and aching for his touch.
But with their reunion comes danger. For Perrin and Jenny-and all living creatures-their only hope for preventing the unthinkable lies in a mysterious empire far beneath the sea...and in the power of their dreams.
childhood sweethearts, childhood love, love them. maybe because it shows a strong love that never goes away despite the odds, despite the circumstances, despite the problems. this is the romantic in me speaking. and this story especially was so tragic, i really felt for Perrin here especially but not only him, even the other characters as well. they all have their own troubles. if what had happened to them happened to me in reality, i don't think i'd have been able to survive at all.
before this i read another book by the same author, 'the red heart of jade' where our characters were childhood sweethearts as well. that's another good book with action, mystery and romance, just like this one. they're called a dirk and steele romance. seems like marjorie m. liu is also another one of my favourites now. what's also unique is that she has some asian aspects in her stories which makes me feel close, possibly because i'm asian hehe. parts of the story really made me sad and i really felt for the characters which is really well done by the author, to be able to invoke feelings in the reader is no easy feat. well hope you enjoy this.

Dark Slayer by Christine Feehan

Ivory Malinov's only brethren are the wolves. Abandoned by her family and cast out by everyone she held dear, Ivory has lived centuries without love. She has sustained her sanity by preparing for one mission - to destroy her greatest enemy. Then she picks up the scent of a man. Her salvation. Her lifemate. The curse of all Carpathian women.
Branded a criminal, Razvan is a Dragonseeker from one of the greatest Carpathian lineages, yet he has been raised as its most despised enemy. Fleeing from his lifetime of imprisonment, Razvan seeks the dawn to end his terrible existense. Instead he finds his deliverance in Ivory, the Dark Slayer. In spirit, in flesh and in blood, in love and in war, Ivory and Razvan are made for each other. For as long as they dare to live.
this was one of the best among others in the carpathian novel series for me personally. sigh, i've come across razvan when reading natalya and lara's stories and always wondered what really happened to him, why it happened and how. and now i understand.
both razvan and ivory have suffered so much it's unimaginable. sigh their pain was so much, my heart really felt for them as i haven't really felt for many other carpathians. the descriptions are wonderful, they make your heart throb. you feel so much for both razvan and ivory, their pain, their patience sighhhh it just gave me goosebumps of the good kind when reading this book. razvan has such a great character. never letting anything bring him down, always patient and calm. sighhhh at the same time, strong mentally and physically. sighhh and the wolves were amazing as well hehehe
anyway hope you really like this book. enjoy another great book by christine feehan.

Breakfast in Bed by Robin Kaye

Rich Ronaldi is almost the complete package-smart, sexy, great job-but when his girlfriend dumps him, Rich swears he'll learn to cook and clean just to win her back...
Rich is the only guy Becca Larsen's ever met who hasn't tried to change her. She's glad to help him master the domestic arts but she'll be damned if he'll start cooking in another woman's kitchen-or bedroom...
this is the third and last? book in the domestic gods series and it was just as good as the first two series which i've written about in earlier posts. the only difference is our hero doesn't have a domestic bone initially until he 'learns' from becca heheehe and he's also quite spoilt and has to be knocked on the head to realise something...figuratively of course. becca has so much pride which is understandable and the best part is how these two come to an understanding and get together. there's so much misunderstandings as well but the sweetness overcomes it hehe it's another romantic comedy that you'll definitely enjoy.

Play Of Passion by Nalini Singh

In his position as tracker for the Snowdancer pack, it's up to Drew Kincaid to rein in rouge changelings who have lost control of their animal halves-even if it means killing those who have gone too far. But nothing in his life has prepared him for the battle he mut now wage to win the heart of a woman who makes his body ignite...and who threatens to enslave his wolf.
Lieutenant Indigo Riviere doesn't easily allow skin privileges especially of the sensual kind-and the last person she expects to find herself craving is the most wickedly playful male in the den. Everything she knows tells her to pull back before the flames burn them both to ash...but she hasn't counted on Drew's will.
Now, two of Snowdancer's most stubborn wolves find themselves playing a hot, sexy game even as lethal danger stalks the very place they call home...
this is the latest in the psy-changeling series that i've read of nalini singh. i've read all the books before this and they were all great. she is such a talented writer. but right now, i can't wait for hawke and sienna's story. i'm anticipating their story so much. i just wonder when it's going to be out.
in this story i loved drew who's a little different from our heroes before. the difference is that charm simply oozes out from him in buckets. the things he did to court indigo sighhh it'd definitely be mushy if it happened to me and i'd get goosebumps but when i read about it or watch on tv, then that's really sweet hehe of course, stubborness is hidden very well in him and most don't usually see that of him, only the charming and playful side and i was charmed by that as well.
this book basically has a mix of everything so i hope you enjoy it.

Seers had long foreseen an extraordinary destiny for ellysetta baristani. already she had won the heart of the fey king-the magnificient rain, ever her ally, eternally her love. she had saved the offspring of the magical tairen and fought beside her legendary mate against the armies of eld. but the most powerful and dangerous verse of her song had yet to be sung. as the final battle draws nigh and evil tightens its grip upon her soul-will elysetta secure the world for light or plunge it into darkness for all eternity? as she and rain fight for each other side by side, will they find a way to complete their truemate bond and defeat the evil high mage of eld before it's too late or must they make the ultimate sacrifice to save their world?
the last in the tairen soul book and i've finally finished it. it was worth my time spent on these books. the story was gripping and the ending was majestic and amazing. it seemed as if new relationships would be formed but those were open ended hehehe i am hoping for a particular couple and it was hinted as well, so i'm quite satisfied. hehe enjoy it all.

Demon Bound by Meljean Brook

Among the Guardians, Alice Grey is known as the Black Widow-a woman trapped in a web spun by the demon Teqon. To save her soul, she agreed to deliver to Teqon the heart of the oldest and most powerful Guardian of all, or else be damned for eternity. After more than a hundered years, Teqon is calling in his debt.
Jake Hawkins is a novice Guardian whose gift of teleportation could be invaluable to Alice as she determines her next move. but in aligning himself with her, he never expects to fall in love. now their passionate flight to escape Alice's damnable bargain is threatening both their souls. for they're about to discover a hellish secret about the guardians, something that will change their universe forever.
i've read most of the guardian novels before this except for demon angel and out of all that i've read, i've really enjoyed this one in particular. jake really got to me, with his characters and all. alice was wonderful as well but for me, jake was the clincher here hehehe he was a refreshing character for me and their attraction to each other was wonderful. i've read demon forged too and i can't wait to read the next sequel. i'm just hoping for a specific couple but wonder if it's so. enjoy

Into Thin Air by Cindy Miles

A twelth century welsh warrior turned Guardian who has protected his charges for nearly a thousand years, Gawan's got less than twenty-four days left on duty until he can shed his wings and finally become mortal. but the higher ups have different plans. The beautiful soaking wet woman Gawan finds by the side of the road near Castle Grimm is actually his soul mate, and it's up to him to save her life.
What he doesn't know is that Ellie is practically a ghost already. She doesn't remember who she is or how she got to the north of England, where her only chance to rejoin the living is this mouthwatering angel with a funny accent. Aided by the castle's eccentric spirits, they set out to solve the mystery of her near death, but neither Ellie nor Gawan is prepared for the soul searing passion they discover...or the sacrifices that may lead to an eternity of love.
it was a book that had reality and supernatural mixed in it and i loved it hehe there was a lot of humor and romance as well, my heart just went aww most of the time. it leaves us in suspense too as to what really happens to her, i hope you enjoy it.

Dark Guardian by Christine Feehan

Haunted by a traumatic childhood, Jaxon Montgomery is a policewoman with a fearsome reputation. Trained by special forces, she meets her match when she is set up to be murdered by an enemy. Hunted on all sides, she can only turn to the mysterious stranger who seems more dangerous than any other she has ever known.
Lucian Daratrazanoff is the Dark Guardian of his people, a Carpathian who has spent years pretending to have turned to the dark side and become a vampire. And after centuries of bleak, soulless existence, he finds himself drawn to Jaxon...
Another great read by christine feehan. lucian is actually the older brother of gabriel, hero of dark legend(i think). i've written about him as well. our hero and heroine are both strong people, not only physically but mentally as well, especially jaxon. it's amazing how she's turned out after what she's gone through. this book has a great mix of supernatural powers as well as romance and action which is my favourite, especially the latter two. christine feehan has written many amazing books one has ever read in my personal opinion hehe. there are still many carpathian series i have yet to read of hers, some i have but have not gotten around to writing about it, maybe because i've been too lazy or because, i found them ok. but this book is one i'll read if given a second chance in the near future. hehe enjoy.

Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh

Max Shannon is a good cop, one of the best in New York Enforcement. Born with a natural shield that protects him against Psy mental invasions, he knows he has little chance of advancement within the Psy-dominated power structure. The last case he expects to be assigned is that of a murder targeting a Psy Councilor's closest advisors. And the last woman he expects to compel him in the most sensual of ways is a Psy on the verge of a catastropic mental fracture...
Sophia Russo is a Justice Psy, cursed with the ability to retrieve memories from men and women so twisted even veteral cops keep their distance. Appointed as Max's liaison with the Psy, she finds herself fascinated by this human, her frozen heart threatening to thaw with forbidden emotion. But, her mind filled with other people's nightmares, other people's evil, she's standing on the border between sanity and a silken darkness that urges her to take justice into her own hands, to become judge, jury...and executioner....
another of nalini singh's psy-changeling series, this book really kept me engrossed. it's definitely a good one, although all her books before this were great as well. she links all the characters together so well and it's good to see different couples from time to time. this i feel is one of the darker and more passionate ones among her books, what with so much mental stress there. and this is like the easy way to describe hehe if you read, man, just imagining all of that is so much headache. i loved how the main leads here were slowly drawn to each other. that was really good; and i read the next sequel. seems like it's the wolves turn now. can't wait for that. hope to find it in the library although i guess i'll have to wait for some time. sigh oh well. enjoy this one.

Queen of Song and Souls by C.L. Wilson

Only together could their souls be complete. Only together could they survive. Only together could they unlock the secrets of the past and unleash their greatest magic.
As war rages all around them, and the evil mages of Eld stand on the brink of triumph, Rain and Ellysetta must learn to trust completely in their love and in themselves, and embrace a forbidden power that can either destroy their world or save it.
this is the fourth(if i'm not wrong)instalment of the book and it's getting better so far. you have to read this from the beginning to know what has been going on and it won't be a waste of time that's for sure. there is so much magic, so much love and pain all in this book, it grips our heart.
initially i thought that this was like the last of the book but seems like there's one more i think from the way the story ended. although i've never heard of it, i'm googling it out later, see what's the title and all. anyway, if you love fantasy and romance, you won't want to miss this book. it's so sad and touching at times, my heart definitely felt a ...how would i describe it. basically there was a lump in my throat. anyway, hope you enjoy.
